High school middle blocker Nnedi Okammor has committed to the University of Florida in Gainesville as part of the class of 2020. A current sophomore at Hebron High School, Okammor also plays with Texas Advantage Volleyball in club.
A 6’4″ middle blocker at Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas, Okammor was a part of the Texas 6A State Champions this past season. In total, her team went 41-7 and are ranked 12th nationally by MaxPreps.
On the club side, Okammor is part of the TAV Blue 16 team after spending last year with the TAV Blue 15 squad. There is plenty of competition throughout the program with handfuls of other collegiate recruits in addition to Okammor.
The Gators are currently in the midst of a season where they earned the #2 seed from the NCAA Tournament committee after being co-SEC champions. They have four middle blockers on their roster, but all are on pace to graduate by the time Okammor arrives. That means potential early playing time for the youngster from Texas.
