Class of 2021 setter and defensive specialist Clara Brower has verbally committed to the University of Georgia women’s volleyball program.
Brower is a sophomore for the 2018-2019 school year at The Woodlands High School in Texas, who are already 9-1 to start the 2018 season. In 2017 the school went 38-3 and made the Texas Class 6A State Semifinals before ending up ranked 23rd in the final MaxPreps national rankings.
Individually, according to her MaxPreps profile, Brower logged 255 assists (4.1 per set), 171 digs (2.8 per set), 23 aces (0.4 per set), 20 kills (0.3 per set) and 16 blocks (0.3 per set) on a .939 reception percentage. Early on in 2018, she is averaging just under 12 assists per set to go with around two digs and one ace per set as well. Her SportsRecruits profile can be seen here.
It’s not the first class of 2021 recruit for Georgia either. Joining Brower in the class is Lyric Stewart, a middle blocker and outside hitter from Texas.
Georgia finished the 2017 season by collecting a 22-12 record and a 10-8 mark as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Their 2018 season begins on August 24 against Coastal Carolina before rounding out the weekend against Furman and Illinois State.
Extremely blessed and proud to announce that I have verbally committed to further my academic and volleyball career at the University of Georgia. Thank you to all my family, friends, and coaches who have helped me make this decision. Go Dawgs! ❤️🐾#committedtotheG pic.twitter.com/zlIcimiawX
