Class of 2021 setter Sarah White has verbally committed to the Ohio State University women’s indoor volleyball program.
White will be a sophomore this upcoming fall at Seneca Valley High School in Pennsylvania. In her freshman season she helped the team achieve an 11-7 record en route to a quarterfinals appearance at the Class 4A State Volleyball Tournament. In year one she was also first-team all-conference, all-section, All-Western Pennsylvania and the lone freshman on the all-state team.
On the club side of things, White plays with Pittsburgh Elite Volleyball, most recently the 15 Elite Team. Besides standing at 5’11”, she owns a 7’7″ standing reach, 9’5″ block touch and 9’8″ approach jump. Her full recruiting profile can be seen here.
Although White is the first commitment for Ohio State that has been registered in the VolleyMob Recruiting Database for the class of 2021, she also joins another 2020 or later recruit in middle blocker Rylee Rader (2020).
Ohio State’s most recent season in 2017 came with a 15-16 record and an 8-12 mark in the Big Ten, good for a 9th place finish in the conference. They’ll start up the 2018 season on August 24 at home against Albany.
I’m excited to announce that I have verbally committed to The Ohio State University to further my academic and volleyball career as a Buckeye. I’m so grateful to God, my family, coaches and teammates who have helped me along the way. #GoBucks @ohiostatewvb @PghElite pic.twitter.com/YZyBdIK067
