TCU jumped out to a first set lead of 9-3 before Colorado State made a comeback to tie things up at 11-11. The tight race to the first set continued until TCU took the 1-0 match lead with a 25-23 first set score. The second set started with CSU taking the early lead at 11-5 and holding onto the lead until TCU made a comeback late to tie things at 21 all, before taking the 2-0 lead at 29-27.

CSU maintained a small lead over TCU in the third, which proved helpful as they took the fourth set off an Amanda Young service ace to force the fifth set 25-17.
