After helping her squad to a 3-0 weekend and a win over #16 Michigan, Colorado State’s Sanja Cizmic has been named as the AVCA Division I Player of the Week.

Cizmic was a strong force for the Colorado State team that has now taken down two top-25 teams this season, after taking down #15 Florida State last week. During this weeks play, Cizmic played in 10 sets and put down an average of 3.5 kills per set on a .415 hitting percentage, while adding 1.3 digs per set and .60 blocks per set.

In all three matches over the weekend, Cizmic slammed down double-digit kills. Against Ball State, Cizmic put down 12 kills for a .308 hitting clip while adding one ace, five digs and four blocks to her tally. In the team’s upset over Michigan, Cizmic put down a match-best 13 kills on 20 attempts with just two errors for a .550 hitting percentage. To cap off the weekend, Cizmic slammed down 10 kills on a .421 hitting clip with two assists, four digs and two blocks.

This was a breakout weekend offensively for Cizmic, as they were the first matches that she posted double-digit kills in all year. Overall, Cizmic leads Colorado State with 11 aces on the year and fourth on the year in kills with 75 for an average of 2.42 kills per set on a .299 hitting clip.
