Concordia St. Paul Remains #1 In AVCA DII Poll After Undefeated Week

After the first week of the Division II season, Concordia St. Paul remains as the #1 team in the country with 45 first place votes. The squad started off their season with a 4-0 record, along with Southwest Minnesota St., who comes in at second to keep the top-two in tact.

Lewis made a huge jump in the poll to their highest ranking ever at #3 from #8, while Palm Beach Atlantic made their way into the top-five at #4 after a 3-0 weekend. Nebraska-Kearney dropped to #5 after losing a match in week one.

Making another huge jump was Ferris State, posting a 4-0 record on the weekend, the team moved from #14 to #8. Concordia (CA), Central Missouri and Tarleton State made a push to move up in the polls with undefeated records. Concordia (CA) jumped to #15 from #22, Central Missouri from #21 to #16 and Tarleton State from #25 to #17.

Two teams made huge drops in the poll – Winona State from #5 to #13 and Alaska Anchorage from #4 to #14 after each team ended week one with a 2-2 record.

Joining the rankings this week are Saint Leo and California Baptist after each squad posted undefeated marks for the weekend. With the addition of the two schools to the list, Wheeling Jesuit (previously #11) and Metro (previously #20) State fell off the rankings.
