Cristina Barcellini Returns Home To Play With Igor Volley Novara

Cristina Barcellini has made a change in clubs, transferring to Igor Volley Novara – in time to play Sunday’s match against Montichiari.

“We are proud and happy that Cristina has chosen to continue his season with us,” said club president, Sister Giovanna Saporiti. “We are confident that today will be born something that will last. Cristina is linked to its territory and is a person even before an athlete can integrate quickly into our reality and make its own important contribution.”

Barcellini is returning to her home country of Italy after moving to Turkey to play with Seramiksan Turgutlu, but decided to return to her hometwon Novara mid-season, with the hopes of making it to the finals of the Italian Cup and then the playoffs. She previously played in Novara until 2012, which is where she was born, returning this time with AGIL Novara.

“I thank the club for the warm welcome and, above all, for the greatest opportunity offered to me and I do not hide the joy and pride of being able to defend the colors of my city,” said Barcellini.

Igor Gorgonzola Novara is currently on an eight match win streak, looking to extend with a win over Metalleght Montichiari on January 22.
