The rich have gotten richer in the Czech women’s league, where the defending titleholders Prostejov have added former Cuban National Teamer Dayesi Masso Casalis for the Czech Playoffs. She comes to the club from her prior stop in Egypt and before that was with Jakarta BNI in Indonesia.

Casalis played on the Cuban National Team before she defected. The 26-year old opposite replaces Turkish opposite Yeliz Basa on the team that is currently playing in the CEV European Champions League.

Prostejov is currently atop the Czech Extraliga with 46 points through 18 rounds of play – 6 points clear of Olomouc.

In her first two games, Casilas has scored 21 points with 3 aces, 17 kills, and a block. Those 21 points alreayd place her 4th on the team this season, making her presence a massive boost for the team’s chances at repeating, and even moreso at doing damage in the Champions League.

She joins her fellow Cuban national Matienzo Linares, who is only 22, on the roster.

The Extraliga playoffs will begin in April.
