After spending last season playing with Poitiers in France, 6’5″ American opposite Laura Schaudt will spend next season with Holte IF in the Danish Women’s Volleyball League. The team will also participate in the CEV Challenge Cup next season.
Schauldt, who was also a standout on the Oregon State track & field team, played in the 2nd tier of French volleyball. She then spent the summer playing with Creamline in the Philippines League (which has a multi-seasons-per-year system unique in the world of volleyball).
As a senior at Oregon State, she had 211 kills while starting 30 of her team’s 34 matches, for 1.65 kills-per-set. She also added 105 blocks (.82/set). A year prior she had 258 kills, but fewer blocks (57).
She’s the only listed opposite on the roster for the team that were the Danish runners-up last season, losing to Brondby VK 3-2 in a best-of-5 series. She takes over for another American, former Northwestern Wildcat Sofia Martinez-Lavin, who was named to the league dream team at opposite last season.
Schaudt also graduated from Oregon State with the 6th-best triple jump in school history.
