Italian Men: Sir Safety Now Only Undefeated Team In League

Finally, in week six of the Italian men’s league, there is just one team that remains unbeaten – Sir Safety Conad Perugia. Azimut Modena, the other unbeaten team through five rounds, fell at the hands of Cucine Lube Civitanova. Though, as the leaders, Sir Safety dropped one set to Biosi Indexa Sora who is in last place in the league.

Sir Safety was led by Aleksandar Atanasijevic who produced 20 points in the teams win, while Aaron Russell added in another 11 along with Simone Anzani‘s 10. The real MVP in the match came from the losing side as Dusan Petkovic put down 32 points in the team loss.

There were three players that helped lead Cucine Lube Civitanova to the victory over Azimut Modena. Tsvetan Sokolov provided 20 points in the win while Taylor Sander chipped in another 18 along with Osmany Juantorena recorded another 17. Earvin Ngapeth‘s 19 points, Giulio Sabbi‘s 17 and Max Holt‘s 12 points were not enough for Azimut Modena.

Vibo Valentia came back from a 1-2 deficit to down Top Volley Latina in five sets. Oleg Antonov posted 24 points in the win while Deivid Costa and Ben Patch added in another 14.
