THE BIG MATCH:

James Madison (10-0) at Elon (11-5) – 7 pm ET (Video/Live Stats)

Elon plays host to an unbeaten James Madison bunch in a match that should have heavy implications at the top of the CAA standings. Beyond that, Elon looks for revenge after falling to James Madison in four sets last season.

James Madison is the defending Colonial Athletic Association league champions as they made the NCAA Tournament in 2016 before falling just one set short of a tournament win. In 2017, they are still undefeated after they won their CAA opener on the road against William & Mary and will look to continue their hot start led by a stellar defense.

The Phoenix on the other hand went 18-15 last season but struggled in conference play. They look to be a factor this season as they took down Delaware last match to improve to 1-1 in conference play. Although they did lose their first CAA match of 2017, it came to a now 16-0 Towson team in four sets even though Elon hit at a higher attack rate than their opposition.

OTHER NOTABLE MATCHES:

Loyola (1-12) at Missouri State (10-5) – 8 pm ET (ESPN3/Live Stats)

Missouri State has a challenge on their hands in winning the MVC as Northern Iowa is ranked 15th in the latest VolleyMob Top 25. So far the Bears are 2-0 in conference play and will look to continue racking up wins as they’ve seen time in the top 25 and on the cusp so far this season and will be looking to rise back up with the week ahead.

BEST OF THE REST:

Illinois State (8-7) at Evansville (6-7) – 8 pm ET (ESPN3/Live Stats)
