Dayton head volleyball coach Tim Horsmon announces the addition of Mackenzie Weaver to the team – transferring in from Syracuse after just one season.

With the transfer, the 6-1 outsider hitter from Mt. Gilead, Ohio will have three years of eligibility remaining.

In her first season with Syracuse, Weaver posted 230 kills for an average of 2.58 kills per set, ranking second on the team. Weaver played in a total of 89 sets over 25 matches with 21 starts. She posted 10 service aces on the year, 185 digs for 2.08 digs per set and a total of 55 blocks.

In her prep years, Weaver played for Lexington High School where she was a three-time Ohio Cardinal Conference (OCC) Offensive Player of the Year and four-time OCC First Team selection.

Weaver is the third to join Dayton’s 2017 roster – with freshmen-to-be Bridget Doherty and Maria Schorr set to join.
