Marshall’s 2017 Blocks Leader Addisyn Rowe No Longer on Roster

As just a freshman, middle blocker Addisyn Rowe put up strong numbers at Marshall, including leading the team in blocks and blocks per set. However, for one reason or another, Rowe is no longer listed on the Herd’s 2018 roster.

There are several possible explanations – Rowe is retiring from volleyball, she is opting to focus on track & field, etc.. The actual reasoning though is unknown at this time, although she is still listed on the track & field roster for jumps, which would make it likely she is just focusing on that aspect of her athletics.

A 6’3″ native of Limestone, Tennessee, Rowe logged 140 kills (1.43 per set) while hitting a team-high .276 and 97 blocks (0.99 per set). Prior to her time at Marshall, she was a two-sport athlete at David Crockett High School, winning her conference’s Athlete of the Year for track in 2016.

Marshall is left with three middle blockers on their 2018 roster – although one plays outside hitter as well. That would be Madison Hill, who was second on the team in kills. Beyond that, the leading experience at the position comes from Katie Jacques, who appeared in 51 sets.

The Herd are coming off of a 2017 season in which they went 11-19 and 6-8 in Conference USA action. Prior to that, they had a 22-8 season in 2016.
