Miami Killian Sweeps Lake Mary For First-Ever Florida Boys State Title

The 2017 Florida High School Boy’s Volleyball tournament has ended with a Miami Killian win over Lake Mary in three sets 3-0, (25-19, 26-24, 25-22) to win their program’s first-ever state title.

The first set, Killian was able to jump out to a lead and keep it to take the set 25-19, while the second set proved to be tougher with Killian fighting to take the second set victory and the 2-0 match lead. The final set was still a tight race to the finish, with Killian proving better over Lake Mary to take the Florida state title.

Leading Miami Killian was Christopher Hallstand with 10 kills followed by teammate Aeven Woodly with eight kill and six blocks.

For Lake Mary, Jackson Harbin recorded nine kills for the squad with Sam Wallace adding another eight to the tally. In the backcourt, Trace Kiersnowski picked up a match-best seven digs.
