Miami’s Haley Templeton Reaches 4,000-Career Assists Mark

Redshirt senior Haley Templeton surpassed the 4,000-career assists mark in Miami’s 3-set loss at 8th-ranked Pittsburgh with an 18-dig performance and added to her total with a 45-dig effort in its 4-set win at Virginia. She is 1 of 3 Hurricanes all-time to reach the 4,000 assists record.

The 6-0 setter has distributed 4,049 assists in her career, which is 3rd in Hurricanes volleyball history. Templeton tallied 1,143 in 2014, 1,261 in 2015, 95 in her redshirt season in 2016, 1,172 in 2017 and 378 so far in 2018.

Katie Gallagher is the all-time assists leader at Miami, recording 5,173 in her career from 2007-11. Jill Robinson follows with a total of 4,937 assists from 2003-06.

Templeton is 1,258 assists from entering the ACC’s Top 10 career lists. Kele Eveland of Georgia Tech owns the conference record with 6,464 assists from 2000-03.

A Preseason All-ACC pick, Templeton collected AVCA All-America honorable mention distinction in 2017. She was also named to AVCA All-East Coast Region squad and All-ACC First Team.

Miami is 7-4 overall and 3-1 in ACC action so far this season. The Hurricanes are in a 3-way tie for 4th in conference standings along with Notre Dame and Florida State.
