The University of Iowa welcomes in transfer middle blocker, Maggie Revell for their 2017 season.
Revell joins the team in the spring, having a remaining three years of eligibility after a redshirt year and then competed in her freshman season with Sam Houston State University. With Sam Houston, Revell helped guide the team to a 18-14 record and a runner-up effort in the Southland Conference Tournament Championship.
“We are excited about adding Maggie to our volleyball family and strengthening our middle blocker position,” said Iowa head coach Bond Shymansky. “She is dynamic and is evolving into a tremendous fast attacker and aggressive blocker. We know Maggie will fit well with the True Mental Toughness of our program.”
The middle blocker came out of Clear Creek High School under Scott Simonds in Dallas, Texas. Revell helped lead the team to an undefeated season her junior year, on top of earning All-District honors and leading her team to a third-place ranking in Texas 6A. Overall, Revell put down 197 kills on a .348 hitting percentage and 55 blocks.
