Class of 2020 outside hitter/defensive specialist/libero Cami Appiani has committed to the University of Minnesota women’s volleyball program.

Appiani will be a junior come the fall semester and the 2018 season at Torrey Pines High School in San Diego, California. As a sophomore she helped the team to a 34-4 record and a spot in the 2017 CIF State Girls Volleyball Regional Finals. They also ended the season ranked 15th in the Xcellent 25 and fifth nationally via MaxPreps in Appiani’s first year of varsity after a highly-successful run on JV as a freshman.

WAVE Volleyball club also continues Appiani’s prep play. She won’t be bringing her play in the sand with her to Minnesota, but the experience has given her strong defense and a serve.

It’s not the first class of 2020 recruit for Minnesota either. Joining Appiani as commits from the class that have been registered in the VolleyMob Recruiting Database are Melani Shaffmaster and Taylor Landfair.

Minnesota collected a 28-6 finish in 2017 in which they went 15-5 in the Big Ten and made the Sweet 16/Regional Semifinals.

CONGRATS TO CAMI APPIANI FOR COMMITTING TO UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA!!! 🌊🌊🌊 #wavevb #wavenation
