Azimut Modena has had some drama on their court in the past few weeks, with Earvin Ngapeth being off the court for about a week, causing the team to lose a match to Kioene Padova at home. This turned around with his return against BCC Castellana Grotte, with whom they downed in straight sets.

Now, Modena will host Biosi Indexa Sora who is in last place in the league.

“The match with Sora? We have already met them in the first round and have put us in trouble by forcing the service. They will arrive in Modena with a free mind, put everything they have in the field and with the spirit of those who have little to lose. We will have to start the match at our best, playing our volleyball. We can not afford any distraction, we must stay with our heads in the game from the beginning to the end,” said Modena head coach Radostin Stoytchev during a press conference for Modena Volley.

Throughout the year, Modena has proved to be one of the tougher teams in the Italian league, however, have found themselves in a number of close matches as well as three losses on the year. The squad has a number of top players in the league including Ngapeth, setter Bruno Rezende, Tine Urnaut and Max Holt.

The team will need to have a well-rounded showing from all of their top players in order to stay ahead and not falter against their upcoming opponent. In their first meeting this season, Modena swept Sora, but the scores were tight in each of the sets.
