Montreal Sits Atop USports Women’s Rankings In Week Two

The Canadian Women’s season is well underway, with many teams beginning their regular season on October 20 following a month and a half long exhibition period.

Sitting at the top of their divisions are Dalhousie, UBC Okanagan, Ryerson, McMaster and Montreal. The #1 rank overall for the women’s side is Montreal, who has won all five of their matches so far this season and are receiving 60 votes for the first-place position. This moves Montreal up from the #3 position in last weeks poll, while Alberta, the previous #1, falls to #2 after suffering a loss.

Trinity Western def. Brandon 3-2

Though not ranked, Trinity Western downed Brandon (RV) in a five-setter to boost their overall record to 3-3. Hilary Howe led the way with 16 kills while Linda Damerau posted 13 kills and 14 digs for a double-double along with five block assists.

McMaster def. Windsor 3-2

McMaster also fought through a five-set match with the win over Windsor. In the match bother Maicee Sorensen and Rachel Woock posted 14 kills in the win.
