The Purdue Volleyball coaching staff welcomes another new face to the program as Tyler Golsteyn joins the Boilermakers as a volunteer assistant. Golsteyn comes from North Dakota State University after three years of serving as the Director of Volleyball Operations for the Bisons.

“I’m very excited to have Tyler join our staff,” head coach Dave Shondell said. “Tyler is a terrific young coach with quality Division-I and club coaching experience.”

“Tyler played for a strong DI program and hails from a volleyball coaching family. The IPFW graduate hits all the boxes we identified in searching for our next volunteer coach. Our entire program is looking forward to his arrival this summer.”

Golsteyn joins Purdue after assisting North Dakota State to a 52-39 overall record and a 30-16 record in the Summit League over the last three seasons. Prior to his time with the Bisons, the Old Hickory, Tennessee, native was a four-time Midwest Intercollegiate Volleyball Association All-Academic selection as a setter and libero at Fort Wayne.

“I am extremely excited and honored for the opportunity to join the Boilermaker family and help continue the success of this amazing volleyball program,” said Golsteyn. “I am eager to start working with this incredibly talented staff and these student athletes in preparation for this upcoming season. I’ve been told the atmosphere in Holloway is something truly special and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

Aside from his time serving on NDSU’s staff, Golsteyn brings six years of coaching experience at the club and high school level including stops at Fort Wayne’s Bishop Luers High School, Impact VBC, Pineapple Sport One Volleyball Club, N3, and Alliance Volleyball Club.

Golsteyn joins a Purdue staff that has been together for 15 years and has earned a 324-175 record with 12 trips to the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32, seven Sweet 16 and two Elite Eights.
