Nebraska has signed a new freshman outside hitter in 6’1″ Kashauna Williams who has enrolled early at the university and will take part in the spring and beach season for the Huskers. Williams is a native of Lancaster, California where she played for El Camino Real Charter High School.
In her prep career, Williams was named the Los Angeles Time City Section Division I Player of the Year in 2015 as a junior. She was the El Camino Real’s player of the year for three straight seasons after beginning her high school career at Sylmar High School, where she was the first freshman in program history to play on the varsity squad.
Instead of beginning college in the fall of 2017, she took the fall off to attend a local junior college. Instead, Williams trained with USA Women’s Junior A1 National Team. In club, she played with Mizuno Long Beach where her team competed in the 2016 AAU National Championships.
Williams is the fifth signee for the 2018 season, as Nebraska signed four back in the early signing period in November – Capri Davis (outside hitter), Nicklin Hames (setter), Megan Miller (libero) and Callie Schwarzenbach (middle blocker).
