Marcio Sicoli, who has coached Kerri Walsh Jennings in two Olympics, has signed on to help the three-time Olympic Gold Medalist with her event series venture, P1440. Sicoli will act as Director of Beach Volleyball Development with assistance from Jonathan Daze, p1440 announced Tuesday.
P1440 reveals that the prize money for the series will be just midway between that of the FIVB four and five star events. Each of the four events will feature a $300,000 prize purse, split evently between the men’s and women’s players, $150,000 for each gender, totalling $1.2 million for the year.
P1440, a competition series merged with a music festival and health seminar founded by the three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings, will make stops in San Jose, Las Vegas, San Diego and Huntington Beach to kick off its 2018-19 tour.
Dane Selznick, who helped Walsh Jennings to her first Olympic gold medal in 2004, has been tabbed as the director of competition and sport for the Olympians’ event series and online venture p1440.
