Next season, the Northwestern volleyball program will host their home events at the Evanston Township High School’s historic Beardsley Gym.

The team, along with women’s basketball, will host their events other than their normal home location of Welsh-Ryan Arena, as the facility is set to undergo a complete $110 million renovation. The transformation will begin immediately after the conclusion of the 2016-17 women’s basketball season. The renovation is anticipated to be complete by the fall of 2018.

“ETHS highly values out many partnership opportunities with Northwestern,” said Chris Livatino, ETHS athletic director. “We are honored to share our beloved Beardsley Gym with the Wildcats and thrilled to host the volleyball and women’s basketball teams here this year.”

In addition to taking in the Wildcats for the 2017-2018 season, ETHS is set to host their regular schedule of high school athletic events in the Beardsley gym. This gives the Evanston community a wide range of home sporting events to attend in the coming season.

“Out entire program is excited to play close to home next year in Evanston,” head volleyball coach Shane Davis said. “This will continue to provide our student-athletes with a true home venue, and our fans access to the best college volleyball in the nation.”
