Class of 2021 recruit Paris Thompson has verbally committed to the Notre Dame women’s volleyball program. A 6’1″ pin play (outside hitter and opposite) and middle blocker, Thompson will bring her versatility to the Fighting Irish for the fall of 2021 as a member of the team’s class of 2025.

A freshman at Fort Myers High School in Florida, Thompson logged 185 kills (2.9 per set) on a .345 hitting percentage, 102 digs (1.6 per set), 24 blocks (0.4 per set) and 23 aces (0.4 per set) in her first season of varsity per her MaxPreps profile. That came on a team that went 15-7 and made it to the second round of the state tournament.

On the club circuit, Thompson plays with Florida Gulfside Volleyball, specifically the Gulfside 16U Navy team. She can touch 10’3″ with a 31 inch vertical jump. Video of her play via YouTube from a pair of tournaments last year can be seen below:

Notre Dame is coming off of a 22-10 season in which they went 12-8 playing in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and made it into the NCAA Tournament. It’s also their second commitment from the class of 2020 or later that has been recorded in the VolleyMob Recruiting Database, as Thompson (2021) joins outside hitter Aubrey Hamilton (2020).
