Ohio State’s Miles Johnson Earns Third Consecutive MIVA Weekly Award

The Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association has named Ohio State’s Miles Johnson the Offensive Player of the Week and Grand Canyon’s Sky Engleman the Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (Feb. 14).

Johnson earns the Offensive Player of the Week honor for a third consecutive week. He hit .611 on the week with 5.29 kills and 5.50 points per set against ranked opponents Lewis and Loyola. He hit at a .593 clip with 19 kills (4.75 kills per set) vs. Lewis. Two days later he hit .630 with 18 kills (6.00 kills) per set vs. the Ramblers.
Engleman averaged 2.78 digs per set in a pair of MIVA matches at Quincy last week. He recorded 13 digs in the first match and 12 the next night, both wins for Grand Canyon. The Antelopes have a MIVA-best five conference wins on the season and are in second place in the league.
