Every day at VolleyMob we will preview several of the most notable and interesting matches in NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball. We will offer an inside look at some of those top matchups each day as we carry along through the 2017 season.
Following big-time matches on Friday and Saturday, we see the quantity of matches drop as the weekend finishes up. Still, we see three ranked or ‘on the cusp’ teams play as teams look to squeeze the most out of final opportunities to build a resume before conference play begins.

THE BIG MATCH:
#23 Iowa State at RV Wichita State – 3:30 pm ET (WSU Radio/Live Stats)
Playing in Wichita, Kansas, two mid-west opponents face-off with heavy VolleyMob Top 25 implications as well as another late chance for a resume-building win.
The host-team, Wichita State, can score two ranked victories in the same week as they upset Creighton in four sets on Friday for a top-10 victory. Behind a packed crowd at the Charles Koch Arena, the Shockers are a difficult match-up for anyone.
Iowa State overcame the Shockers last season by doing so in sweep-fashion. That one was in Ames however in the first match of 2016, as Wichita State now has revenge on their mind. The strong front line and offense of Wichita State should make for an interesting matchup against the strong defense of Iowa State in the match.
OTHER NOTABLE MATCHES:
Kennesaw State at Louisville – 3 pm ET (ESPN3/Live Stats)
Louisville sits at 5-4, but have seen three of their losses come to ranked opponents with a fourth coming to an Illinois team that appeared in the Top 25 after they played them. Kennesaw State is off to a solid start and looks like a challenger for the NCAA Tournament in the Atlantic Sun after sweeping Georgia earlier this week.
