On the men’s side, Canada’s Sam Pedlow/Sam Schachter, who are ranked No. 14 in the FIVB World listings, will battle Australia’s No. 20 Christopher McHugh and Damien Schumann for gold.
Wednesday’s semifinal field has been determined after four men’s and four women’s quarterfinal matches at the Commonwealth Games. The top four men’s teams made it through, but two top 100 teams were knocked out on the women’s side.

Day 2 of pool play has concluded in Australia at the Commonwealth Games and just like Day 1, just two of the nine matches went past straight sets, both coming in men’s action and both by the same teams as Friday.
The 2018 Commonwealth Games are set to begin on April 6 for beach volleyball and run through April 12 when the gold medal matches commence.
