Canadians Melissa Humana-Paredes/Sarah Pavan and New Zealand’s Shaunna Polley/Kelsie Wills took the women’s Pool B and Pool C titles in front of sellout crowds on Monday, advancing to quarterfinals.

On the men’s side, Australians Christopher McHugh/Damien Schumann and Canadians Sam Pedlow/Sam Schachter earned the final two pool titles.

The pairs join Aussies Mariafe Artacho del Solar/Taliqua Clancy and New Zealanders Sam O’Dea/Ben O’Dea, who secured pool titles on Sunday.

The 12-team field cut to eight for the quarterfinals, with the pool play winners and runner-ups along with two of the third-ranked teams.

Humana-Paredes/Pavan are No. 1 in the FIVB world rankings. Artacho del Solar/Clancy (19), Polley/Wills (49) England’s Jessica Grimson/Victoria Palmer (79) followed, while Scotland’s Lynne Beattie/Melissa Coutts (106) are just outside the Top 100.

Schachter/Pedlow are ranked 14th in the FIVB world rankings, followed by McHugh/Schumann (20) and the O’Deas (144). England’s Chris Gregory/Jake Sheaf also are among the top 100 at 59.
