Virginia Tech Nabs Commit From 2021 DS/L Caroline Darracott

Class of 2021 defensive specialist and libero Caroline Darracott has verbally committed to the Virginia Tech women’s volleyball program.

Darracott is a sophomore at Newnan High School in Georgia. She is currently in her second season of varsity play after totaling 276 digs (2.6 per set) and 51 aces (0.5 per set) as a freshman on a team that won their county and area. So far this year, according to her MaxPreps profile, she has recorded 352 digs (4.1 per set), 45 aces (0.5 per set) and 34 assists (0.4 per set).

On the club circuit, Darracott plays with A5 South Volleyball Club and recently the 15-1 Joe team that won the USAV National Championship this past summer. In helping to lead the push, Darracott was awarded to the All-Tournament team for her individual performance as well. One year prior, she helped her team to a runner-up finish at the GJNC 14 National Division. She stands at 5’6″ and is right handed.

Virginia Tech is 12-8 so far in 2018 with a 3-5 mark as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Last season they went 10-21 (4-16, ACC).
