For the second week in a row, a Lewis volleyball player has earned the rights to be named as the VolleyMob Player of the Week, with this week featuring Mitch Perinar.

Lewis faced Grand Canyon this weekend, both matches going five and one decision going to each team.

In the first match against the Lopes, Perinar slammed down a career-tying and match-best 27 kills on an impressive .438 hitting percentage. On top of a high amount of kills, Perinar picked up eight digs in the back court, also contributing two blocks in the match. In the four set of the match, Perinar recorded 12 of his 27 kills, propelling Lewis to a 28-26 fourth set win over Grand Canyon, moving the match to a fifth and deciding set. Three kills in the fifth helped lead the Flyers to a five set victory.

In the second match to the Lopes, Perinar added another 16 kills to his tally also picking up five digs, two blocks and an ace in the loss.

Last season, Perinar was selected as an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention, MIVA Freshman of the Year, All-MIVA Second Team and named to the 2016 Off the Block Freshman All-America Team.
