Following the FIVB World Tour event in The Hague last weekend, the FIVB sat down with Joana Heidrich and Anouk Verge-Depre to ask them questions that everyone wants to know.
This season, Swiss players have been performing more consistently than normal and the two say that the trainers and coaching staff have begun working more on the technical side of the game.
Heidrich explained that in playing the sport she thinks that losing a match is a good lesson for players. In this, a player thinks more on what went wrong and things that need to be fixed when a loss occurs than when a player wins. Verge-Depre said that beach volleyball has taught her to be true to herself on the court, play her game and to not try new things at the wrong times. Going back to the Swiss pair’s success of staying technically sound.
