Wright State brings in Allie Matters as the programs new head coach, replacing former head coach Susan Clements whose contract was not renewed following the 2017 season.

Prior to being named the head coach at Wright State, Matters was the top assistant at Seton Hall for the past seven seasons. There she helped Seton Hall to their most successful season in 2014, where the program made it to the NCAA Tournament for the first time ever. That same season, Matters and head coach Allison Yaeger were named the Big East Coaching Staff of the Year.

Matters former head coach, Yaeger, was a standout at Wright State from the 2000-03 seasons, being named an AVCA All-American honorable mention in 2003.

Matters is a former player at Seton Hall from 2006-09, helping the Pirates to their first Big East Championship in 15 years in 2009. She was an all-around player for the team, taking the outside hitting role in her first two seasons before transitioning to libero in her final two seasons.

As a coach with Seton Hall, Matters was responsible for recruiting, scouting, organizing team practice, coordinating travel and was the director of the program’s summer camps. Prior to coaching with Seton Hall, Matters was with Canisius for two seasons in the same role.

Matters will now look to turn the team around after an 11-18 season in 2017.
