Yenisei’s Head Coach Dissatisfied With Teams Relaxed Play

Many times a team will dominate in the first set of a match, setting the tone or so they think, only to have a challenging match from then on forward. This is something that the head coach of Krasnoyarsk Yenisei, Sergei Golotov is not a fan of.

“I really do not like sets that are won easily. After that the team relaxes, makes unforced errors and even ridiculous mistakes,” said Golotov.

This is what happened to his team when they faced off against Krasnodar Dinamo in the 16th round of the Russian Super League. Yenisei won the match in three 3-0, (25-11, 25-20, 27-25). The first set was the outlier for Golotov, as Yenisei stomped out to a huge win but were unable to continue this throughout the match, making careless mistakes the remainder of the match to make it a tight game.

“I am dissatisfied that the girls were too relaxed after the first victory. We gave the other team the opportunity to make plays,” said Golotov.

Currently, Yenisei sits in third place in the Russian Super League with a 12-5 record, sitting behind Dinamo Kazan and Moscow in the standings. Krasnodar has struggled this season, posting just a 1-16 record so far, sitting in 10th place (last place) in the league.
