Top teams from around the west coast took part in early week matches this week with #2 UCLA downing #1 Pepperdine while #6 Cal Poly and #5 LBSU swept their double-headers.

#2 UCLA picked up a big win over #1 Pepperdine in the Tuesday matchup, marking their second straight win over the Wave this season and the second time they have taken down the #1 team in the nation (beat #1 USC on February 28).

Cal Poly was dominant in their matches against Oregon and Irvine Valley, winning all 10 games in straight sets while also holding four sets to single-digit scores. The win extends the team’s win streak to 13 matches dating back to their win over Arizona State on February 25. A number of Mustang pairings have been successful all year, with the #1 duo up to 6 straight wins while the #2 and #3 pairings are at 18 and 12 consecutive wins, respectively. The #2 pair of Emily Sonny/Samantha Manley’s 18-0 mark on the year is tied for the best Division I pairs record in the country this season.

LBSU flew through both of their opponents on Tuesday evening, sweeping #13 Stanford and Cal State Los Angeles 5-0. With the win, the Beach is now on an 11-0 winning streak.
