2017 USA GIRLS’ 18S JUNIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 2017 USA Girls’ 18s Junior National Championships schedule has been released, with a weekend jam-packed with volleyball.

In the Open Division of play, there will be six different pools of six teams. The brackets will be played over the first two days of play, with the first three matches on April 21 and the next two on April 22 – both are AM wave. From here, depending on how the team finishes in their pool, will determine when and where they play that evening. Their evening games will be a reassigned three team bracket, that will be played like tournament play – loser drops out of play (but not the whole tournament at this point, they will just be reseeded for the final day at a lower standing).

The final day of play will reseed based off the results of the challenge brackets into eight teams in the gold bracket (winning bracket) and in the remaining seven brackets there will be four teams.

The first four courts of the competition are matches that will be live streamed throughout the competition – with the top teams competing on these courts. On the final day, all of the gold bracket teams in Open will be competing on these courts.

The National and USA Division’s progression of play will be in the same format as Open; however, with more teams competing – eight pools of six teams.

The American Division will host 16 pools of play with four teams in each pool. On the second day of play, the teams will be reseeded based off how they finished the day before into new four team pools. Followed by challenge matches to replace certain teams to their designated pool for the final day of play.

The Patriot division will feature 12 pools with 10 being four team pools and two being five team pools. The second day of play will reseed the teams based off how they finished the previous day. After the second day of play, the teams will be reseed one last time to determine their championship day bracket.

Gold Bracket finals

  • Open – April 23 at 12 PM CST
  • National – April 23 at 2 PM CST
  • USA – April 23 at 1:30 PM CST
  • American – April 23 at 12:30 PM CST
  • Patriot – April 23 at 3 PM CST

The five different divisions of play allow for more teams to have the opportunity to play and compete for a national title. You can read more about what each division means, here.
