The women’s side of the 2018 CEV Champions League has finished up their second-round play with some bigger names having to fight their way through the first round of play. The third round of the competition is set to begin on November 7 and 11.

There were a variety of match levels played during the home match phase of the competition while the away matches seemed to be a more calming round of play.

LP SALO and Maritza PLOVDIV split their two matches, forcing the decision of a golden set – an extra set played to 15 points to determine the winner of a tie. Maritza PLOVDIV advances to the next round following the deciding set, winning 15-12 in 16 minutes. This was the only match that had to be decided in the manner, the rest were secured with one team winning both matches.
