BYU has garnered the commitment of Morgan Bower, a class of 2019 recruit. Currently a junior at Skyview High School in Nampa, Idaho, Bower will attend the school that both of her parents did in their athletic careers.

Morgan’s mother, Caroline, was an outside hitter for BYU from 1995-2000 on teams that made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances. Her father, Danny, was a basketball player from 1997-1999 for the Cougars, as now Morgan looks to follow in their footsteps.

On the high school side at Skyview, Bower helped lead the team to its first state title. She’s also making waves on the club side with Idaho Crush’s U-17 squad as they became the first Idaho team to qualify for the open division at USA Volleyball’s Girls’ Junior National Championships. In total, the Crush have eight college commits on their roster.

BYU, who is coming off of a Sweet 16 appearance and a 29-4 record in 2016, currently has three defensive specialists/liberos on their roster. Two of the three are sophomores and another is a junior, meaning by the time Bower joins the program, one will have graduated and the other two will be on their final go-around with the Cougars, meaning that she could see plenty of playing time early in her career.
