Class of 2019 middle blocker Tori Thompson, who stands 6’2″, from Lakeville, Minnesota has committed to the South Dakota State University women’s volleyball program.

Thompson is a senior-to-be come the fall of 2019 at Lakeville North High School. In her junior campaign in 2017, she helped the team to a 31-2 record that ended in a 2017 Minnesota High School Girls Volleyball Class AAA State Championship. In the championship match against Eagan, Thompson totaled eight kills, three blocks and three digs. It was her second full year of varsity, although she finished the 2015 season with the varsity program as a freshman.

In 2016 as a sophomore, she totaled 53 kills (0.6 per set) on a .234 hitting percentage and 51 blocks (0.3 per set). Those numbers skyrocketed in her most recent season with 169 kills (1.9 per set) on a .308 mark, 65 blocks (0.6 per set), 42 digs (0.5 per set) and 16 aces (0.2 per set).

South Dakota State is coming off of a 2-25 record and a 0-14 mark as a member of the Summit League. They have two middle blockers on their 2018 roster, including one senior set to graduate prior to Thompson’s arrival for the fall of 2019.
