#6 Long Beach State Drops Just One Set In Win Over TCU (3/15/17)

#6 Long Beach State improves to 8-1 with a sweep over TCU Wednesday evening and Florida Gulf Coast takes doubleheader over Eckerd to improve to 3-0 on the season.

The Beach were able to dominate over the Horned Frogs in every match, with the exception of the #3 pair of Anete Brinke and Hailey Harward who took three sets to win 2-1, (21-13, 17-21, 16-14) but nevertheless they prevailed for the sweep. At the #2 spot, Sasha Karelov and Kobi Pekich were able to sweep Haven Hill and Molly Scheel 2-0, (21-10, 21-12) behind 15 kills from Karelov. Heather Weiss (#4) was able to help lead her duo to victory by producing 18 kills in the two set match.

A double-dual match up between Florida Gulf Coast and Eckerd went in the favor of the Eagles who took down the Tritons in 4-1 and 5-0 decisions. The Eagles #3 pair of Katie Puisis and Karissa Rhoades remain undefeated after scores of 21-12, 21-17 in the first match and 21-18, 25-27, 15-9 thrilling three setter in the second.
