North Carolina outside hitter Julia Scoles received ACC Volleyball Player of the Week honors while Notre Dame outside hitter Jemma Yeadon received Freshman of the Week honors.
This is the second week in a row that Scoles has earned the Player of the Week title and fourth weekly award this season.
Scoles helped the Tar Heels remain perfect in conference play, lifting them past No.16 Florida State and Miami 3-0. She led UNC in kills (21) and aces (5) while also recording two solo blocks and a .400 hitting percentage. Scoles averaged 3.50 kills, 2.83 digs and 0.83 aces per set over the pair of sweeps, while making just one attack error in 50 attempts. The Tar Heel is ranked ninth in the ACC in kills (184, 3.23 per set) and fifth in service aces (22, .39 per set).
Yeadon led the Fighting Irish in kills (26) in wins over Syracuse and Boston College this weekend to help the team remain unbeaten in ACC play at 6-0. She recorded double-doubles in both games, recording 12 kills, 10 digs over Syracuse and 14 kills, 11 digs over Boston College. The freshman is ranked ninth in the ACC in service aces with 18 and also leads the Irish in kills (170), kills per set (3.04) and double-doubles (6), while also ranking fourth on the squad in aces (18).
