NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. (Oct. 18, 2016) —The Rutgers women’s volleyball team splits is matches home and away beginning with a rematch with No. 11 Michigan State on Wednesday, Oct. 19 live on Big Ten Network. The Scarlet Knights then return home to host Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 22 for its annual Pink Out.

RU’s Pink Out for Breast Cancer Awareness is set for Saturday, Oct. 22 against Maryland. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free pink bracelet.
RU’S LAST TIME OUT
Rutgers (4-17, 0-8 Big Ten) fell short in its matches over the weekend. The Scarlet Knights first dropped a four-set contest at Indiana by set scores of 25-23, 11-25, 18-25, 22-25. RU then faced its sixth ranked opponent of the season in No. 22 Purdue, falling by scores of 14-25, 18-25, 24-26.
Jasmine Stackhouse is ninth in the conference with 1.16 blocks per set. Stackhouse matched her career-best with seven blocks against Indiana, as RU led IU in total team blocks, 10-4. The Scarlet Knights as a squad have led their opponents in blocks in 12 matches, including the Boilermakers, 6-4.
SCOUTING NO. 11 MICHIGAN STATE
Michigan State (16-4, 5-3 Big Ten) split its matches last week first falling to then-No. 24 Illinois in straight sets on Wednesday. The Spartans then earned a five-set victory over then-No. 3 Minnesota on Saturday night.
Alyssa Gaverlink set a career-best with 18 kills and a season-high 10 blocks against the Gophers. Gaverlink ranks fourth in the Big Ten with a .385 hitting percentage and fifth in blocks with 1.34 per set. Allyssah Fitterer sits at second in the league with a .413 hitting clip.
Michigan State has won all six matchups between the programs dating back to 2000. The Scarlet Knights and Spartans met earlier this season, when then-No. 18 MSU took the win 3-0 (25-14, 25-18 and 25-18).
SCOUTING MARYLAND
Maryland (8-12, 0-8 Big Ten) enters the week in search of a victory in conference action. The Terps most recently suffered three-set losses to Iowa and No. 2 Nebraska over the weekend. UMD came close in a five-set thriller with No. 24 Illinois earlier in conference action, but fell short.
Ashlyn MacGregor ranks second in the conference with 1.53 blocks per set. Gia Milanais tied for fourth in the league with 3.94 kills per set.
Rutgers leads the all-time series with Maryland, 14-8, while UMD leads 3-1 in matches as Big Ten foes. Last season, the Scarlet Knights split its matches with the Terps, earning their first Big Ten victory 3-2 (25-23, 23-25, 25-19, 15-25, 15-12) at home before falling 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 22-25, 19-25) on the road.
