THE BIG MATCH:
Pepperdine (9-5) at #8 BYU (13-1) – (BYU TV/BYU Radio/Live Stats)
A pair of unbeaten West Coast Conference teams battle for the top of the league standings as Pepperdine goes for a top-10 upset in Provo against BYU.
BYU has won five straight matches and started 2-0 in WCC play with wins on the road against Santa Clara and San Francisco last week. They will look for Veronica Jones-Perry to step up as the junior outside hitter has been a menace on the pins averaging 4.53 kills per set to go with 32 blocks and 16 aces.
The visiting team, Pepperdine, is off to a 1-0 start in conference play after besting Loyola Marymount on the road in four sets last week. They will look to continue their balanced offense as three players average three or more kills per set with Mississippi State transfer setter Blossom Sato leading the attack with 11.17 assists per set.
OTHER NOTABLE MATCHES:
Loyola Marymount (7-5) at #25 San Diego (9-3) – 9 pm ET (ESPNU/Game Tracker)
Another West Coast Conference clash occurs as San Diego puts their top-25 mark on the line at home against Loyola Marymount. The Lions have been up and down thus far in terms of results, but all four non-conferences losses came to teams currently ranked or on the cusp in the latest VolleyMob Top 25. They fell to Pepperdine last week, but should give San Diego a run for their money as the Toreros go for win number 10.
BEST OF THE REST:
American (8-6) at Navy (11-3) – 7 pm ET (Navy Video/Live Stats)
#23 Colorado State (12-2) at Wyoming (6-8) – 8:30 pm ET (Live Stats)
