The 2017-18 FIVB Beach World Tour is looming in the distance, with over 1,800 matches to be played throughout the season it is looking to be one of the best beach volleyball seasons yet.This is still a rebuilding year for many teams, as they are finding their new partners that they are hoping to qualify with to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as well as building up their game altogether.
The season formally kicked off with a one-star event in Montpellier, France from September 7-9 with just three other tournaments in 2017 left to play before a 4-star event at The Hague kicks off 2018 from January 3-7.
In total, there will be four 5-star events throughout the season, starting with the Fort Lauderdale Major from February 27-March 4. The following Majors are Croatia, Gstaad and the Vienna Majors.
The number of events on the 2017-18 schedule has nearly doubled, with the money allotments climbing as well from 3.3 million to 7 million.
