The Drawing of Lots for the 2018 CEV Men’s Champions League has been announced from the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Moscow. The men’s side of the tournament will feature a 20 team bracket that will be split up into five brackets of four teams.

  • Knack Roeselare (BEL)
  • Sir Safety Conad Perugia (ITA)
  • Fenerbahce SK Istanbul (TUR)

Pool B

  • Halkbank Ankara (TUR)
  • Paok Thessaloniki (GRE)
  • VfB Friedrichshafen (GER)
  • For Store LEvoranta Sastamala (FIN)

Pool C

  • Chaumont VB 52 Haute Marne (FRA)
  • Dinamo Moscow (RUS)
  • PGE Skra Belchatow (POL)
  • Lokomotiv Novosibirsk (RUS)

Pool D

  • Zenit Kazan (RUS)
  • Berlin Recycling Volleys (GER)
  • Spacer’s Toulouse VB (FRA)
  • Jastrzebski Wegiel (POL)

Pool E

  • Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle (POL)
  • Diatec Trentino (ITA)
  • Arkas Izmir (TUR)
  • Noliko Maaseik (BEL)

The top two teams from each pool along with the two best third-place teams will advance to the Playoffs 12. The fourth round of the tournament will begin in December with two legs of the event taking place prior to the holiday season with the remaining matches following the break.

In the field this year, Ford Store Levoranta Sastamala and Spacer’s Toulouse are making their first-ever appearances in the group stages of the tournament. The 2017 edition winners, Zenit Kazan are in Pool D with a strong line-up of teams to face off against, including Jastrzebski Wegiel out of Poland.

In Pool A, Cucine Lube Civitanova and Sir Safety Conad Perugia out of Italy will face off against each other. The two have not yet met in the Italian men’s league, though Sir Safety took down Cucine Lube in the Italian Super Cup prior to the beginning of the season. Also out of Italy is Diatec Trentino who has been struggling this season, losing their past three matches in the Italian Men’s Serie A1 league – including losses to Cucine Lube and Sir Safety.
