Following the conclusion of her indoor eligibility, Utah State graduate transfer Lauren Anderson is headed to Florida State to compete with the beach volleyball team. Anderson will be immediately eligible and have one last season with the Seminoles in the sand this semester.
A native of Peoria, Arizona, Anderson was a 6’0″ hitter with Pittsburgh after her prep career. She spent two seasons with the Panthers, redshirting one, before transferring to Utah State in the 2015 season as a third-year sophomore.
She played in limited action her first year with the Aggies before earning All-Mountain West as a junior. Again as a senior, she earned All-Mountain West honors as she joined the 400-kill club (446) and became the first Utah State player to do so since 2014. It was also the ninth best total in school history for one season.
Beyond her 446 kills (4.13 per set) while hitting .261, Anderson also racked up 239 digs (2.21 per set), 62 blocks (0.57 per set) and 26 aces (0.24 per set).
Florida State Beach is coming off of a 28-10 season in 2017, making the NCAA Tournament but falling after being one of the last four teams left. They ended the season ranked #4 in the coaches poll.
