Penn State’s Ali Frantti has just announced in her official Instagram page that she has signed her first professional contract with Slovenia’s Calcit Kamnik Volleyball.

Frantti was a vital part of the Penn State squad that made it all the way to the 2017 NCAA Final 4, ultimately falling to eventual champions Nebraska in five sets. She was one of Penn State’s six-student athletes named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American teams, herself being an Honorable mention.

Frantti started her college career in Penn State with the right foot in 2014, being awarded AVCA’s Freshman of the year award as well as being recognized as a AVCA All-American second teamer by the end of her first season. Likewise, she also ended her 4 years there in style, becoming a part of the school’s elite 1000 kill club.

Calcit Kamnik is one of Slovenia’s oldest volleyball clubs, being founded in 1947. In 2007, it fielded its first women’s roster, winning a national championship in 2009/10, the only Slovenian club that boasts national titles in both men’s and women’s competition. This season, it stands in 2nd place on league standings with an 11-1 record.
