Motherhood is a transcendent moment in the life of many women. For athletes, it brings the added element of forcing them to take some time off their profession to focus on pregnancy and childcare, although players playing pregnat is not unheard of, as Karine Guerra is currently playing for Minas six months into her pregnancy.
This week, three international stars shared with fans emotional moments regarding motherhood. Brazilian national team teammates Dani Lins and Camila Brait, who have always been very close, decided to become pregnant together, and have recently had their first-borns. USA’s Destinee Hooker is a bit more experienced, being the mother of 2 kids, which are currently in the US while she plays in Brazil.
“Motherhood has completely transformed me. Nowadays I think first of Alice, then of myself and my husband. I discovered unconditional love. I love my daughter more than anything in my life. I want Alice to watch me play right away.” – Camila
“Being a mother is not caring about how your hair or make up looks, and go dance a waltz with your baby in the middle of the night. I think this dance has surpassed that of mine with Sidão (she is referring to her wedding dance with her husband) as the most important of my life, because when I am dancing with her, I am dancing both with my daughter and husband at the same time, 2 in 1.” – Lins (video below)
“I miss my kids so much. No one understands how hard it is for me to be overseas away from them. My son will be 2 years old on Monday. These are days I can not get back with my kids. I do not play this sport for me. I play for them. God I can not wait to hold them again. Mommy loves you and know I think about you both everyday. God give me strength. ?????❤️?.” – Hooker
