Class of 2019 outside hitter Rachel Abramson has verbally committed to the University of Akron women’s volleyball program.
Standing at 5’11”, Abramson is in her senior year at Verrado High School in Arizona. So far this season they are off to an 15-2 record as Abramson has logged per set numbers of 4.0 kills (.336), 3.4 digs, 0.5 aces and 0.3 blocks.
In total for her career, according to her MaxPreps profile, she has totaled 606 kills (3.3 per set) on a .268 hitting percentage, 496 digs (2.7 per set), 75 aces (0.4 per set) and 28 blocks (0.2 per set) to this point.
Abramson also continues her prep career by playing club ball for Arizona Sky.
Akron is off to an 8-5 start to the 2018 season and 0-2 in the Mid-American Conference (MAC), as they’ve already surpassed their 2017 win total. Their current roster has four left sides/outside hitters, with one senior set to depart and open up a spot for Abramson in 2019.
