The University if Missouri hired Joshua Taylor as the new assistant volleyball coach who brings with him a few years of coaching experience, playing experience, and familiarity with the Tigers program.

“I’m looking forward to building upon an already powerful collegiate program and doing what’s necessary to help the team reach peak performance,” Taylor stated in a press release about his hire.

Taylor will be working alongside current Missouri head coach Wayne Kreklow who claims that Taylor’s style of coaching meshes will with the current team’s “demanding not demeaning” philosophy and atmosphere.

Regarding Taylor, Kreklow told the Missourian, “we were lucky enough to have him in our gym this fall, and I was immediately impressed with his technical expertise, knowledge of the game and most importantly, his moral character.”

Taylor’s background includes being named a two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-American at Pepperdine University. He began as an assistant coach at Pepperdine before accepting a coaching position as a graduate assistant for Missouri during the 2016 season when the Tigers managed to win the Southeastern Conference Championships.

Taylor also has experience as a professional volleyball player. Prior to accepting a position with Missouri, he played for professional teams in both Finland and Qatar.
