Italian outside hitter Veronica Angeloni has signed a contract with Indonesian club PT Petrokemia Gresik – her first professional sojourn outside of Europe.
The 30-year old has now played with now fewer than 16 professional clubs, and has won two major professional titles – one in 2016 with St. Raphael of the French league, and 2 in the Italian Super Club.
She has had a few stints with the Italian National Team, including earning gold medals at the 2004 U-19 European Championships and 2009 World University Games, though she’s never broken through to a major A-side for her country.
In 14 games with Saint Raphael this season, she had 141 points in 54 sets (2.6/set), with a chunk of those coming from the service line, where she ranked in the top 10 in the league before her transfer with 15 aces.
